Yeah and..oh there’s going to be another CTF event coming tomorrow! Sort of like GB without pets if I am not mistaken. Doing special tasks to help your team will win you exclusive titles…because you need as many as you can get, right?

I know that we have basically no requirements for these applications, but please don’t bother if you

a) lack basic english skills

b) have little to no knowledge of game mechanics

c) are not willing to work hard to improve yourself

The purpose of our mentor applications are to help (I like to call them “young prodigies” ;] ) aspiring Mabinogi players who might not have been playing for a long time to improve their skills and eventually join the guild as a real member. If you lack any of the three above recommended requirements, please do not apply for a mentor application because I assure you it will be a waste of your time and our time. To date, I have mentored only one success story, my friend Context. I would like to see more people like him apply for mentor and more mentor applicants showing his initiative. Thank you.

What spooky things lurk in the shadows of Erinn? There is a saying that goes, “If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.” Do exactly that with the limited Magician Character Cards and Little Ghost Pet.

Dress up this Halloween by rebirthing with a Magician Character Card. By rebirthing or creating a character with this Bonus Item Character Card, you can get an outfit that is quite fit for the season!  You’ll receive a Star-shaped Magician Outfit and a Large Brim Magician Hat after character creation or rebirth. Although giants are too large to wear the Magician Outfits, they will still receive the clothing upon rebirth or character creation!

Need a companion to scare away enemies on your travels? The Little Ghost pet is perfect for this task! This little guy floats behind you and will guard any location you specify. In an emergency, you can use the Little Ghost’s master Teleport skill, which will instantly transport you to your Little Ghost. This tricky ability will make your enemy think they saw a ghost!

Act quickly, these seasonal items are on limited sale between October 20th and November 2nd.

New Fishing Event Unveiled!

Have you been itching to spend a few lazy afternoons casting your baited line into the waterways of Erinn? Sometimes it just takes a little motivation to put up the ol’ GONE FISHING sign for the day! Well, here’s the motivation Mabinogians have been looking for: some rare items!

Visit Petra’s boat or the shores of Port Ceann, equip a normal fishing pole and some bait purchased from any general store merchant in Erinn, and cast your line into the oceanic waters. During this special event, you have a chance to reel in items such as Cat Paw Bell Club, Dustin Silver Knight Sword, Ivory Sword, Chic Suit, and Jagged Mini Skirt.

If you want even rarer items, visit the Mabinogi Cash Shop! There, you can pick up a special Tackle Box that contains a special event fishing pole as well as 100 event fishing bait. You may restock event fishing bait as well from the Cash Shop. If you want to vastly improve your chances of getting items over fish and quest scrolls, pick up a Fishing Booster potion as well! A fishing booster potion will increase your auto-catch rate by 50% as well as reducing your chances to catch fish and quest scrolls. By using these items, you have the chance to fish up Elementary School Uniforms, Chinese Dragon Boots, Penguin Robe, Sea Bream Robe, and Shark Robe!

The event will run from September 29 to October 12.

While adventuring through Erinn Dungeons and the Shadow Realm in the next two weeks, you may come across Ancient Treasure Chest Fragments. Fragments, of course, are no good all by themselves so you’ll need to find someone who can piece the chest together. That person is the Town Office Administrator in Dunbarton: Eavan. Eavan will provide you with a keyword that will allow you to exchange Fragments for prizes.

Battle your way through dungeons and the Shadow Realm, fighting monsters of your own level. Fighting Fomors and monsters weaker than you will yield no Treasure Chest Fragments. Once you’ve had your fill of combat, bring Eavan ten Ancient Treasure Chest Fragments and she will reward you with two items, a Gift Box and an Ancient Treasure Chest. The Gift Box is easily opened and useful items. The Ancient Treasure Chest requires a special key found in the Cash Shop. If you do not wish to purchase a key from the Cash Shop, you may dispose of the Ancient Treasure Chest by dropping it on the ground. Due to the fragile nature of the Ancient Treasure Chests and the volatile chemical Eavan uses to fuse them together, the Chest will dissolve upon landing on the ground, along with anything contained therein.

Keep in mind that Chinese Dragon Armor pieces also have nearly three times the drop rate from Ancient Treasure Chests than that of Gift Boxes! Happy hunting!

As Kyo has most graciously informed us, the Dragon Boat Racing event is back.

It involves (Short version ;D)

1. Taking La Terra Highlands Mana Tunnel and heading to the raft start point.

2. Gathering a party and firewood.

3. Applying for a boat to be made (costs 5k, talk to the Native by the raft start point).

4. Clicking to enter the boat.

5. Clicking on one of 8 boat paddles, hunkering down, and rowing when the boat starts.

**Many parties have designated steerers and most proclaim “no steering”, so be cautious **

6. Along the way, Hobogoblin bandits, shamans, and whatnot will attempt to shipwreck you by means of river pirating. IGNORE ALL the hobogoblins EXCEPT the ones that jump onto the raft. Parties will usually have a predetermined hit man to take these out.

7. REMEMBER, stick to the paddle at all times! When you get hit, stick to the paddle. When crit smashed by a hobogoblin( ) -maybe you can drink some hp potions- stick to the paddle!

8. If the less than eight minutes have elapsed when you reach the finish point, you will be awarded a dragon boating prize box, which contains so-so rewards!

9. Stay on the boat for a few minutes after it docks, and you will be transported back to the loading station by La Terra Mana Tunnel!

Once again, I require some practical insight from Aesir and others about the actual event. Share your experiences in the comments. The event runs until the 17th which gives everyone plenty of time to try it out. Is the event difficult? Is it worth the effort? Or is it another random event Nexon has thrown out to distract us.

There have been plenty of ways to cool down and enjoy yourself in Erinn through the summer: Ice Capture the Flag, the Tara Festival, even taking to the skies on a Magical Carpet. Over the next two weeks, you can head to the humid jungles of Courcle for a few rounds of Dragon Boat Racing! Gather friends in order to control dragon-themed boats in a race to see who can get down the river the fastest!

Head to the northern-most dock in Courcle, which is just west of La Terra Highlands. Create a party and speak to the Native dockmaster and ask to create a dragon boat, ‘Request Raft Craft.’ This option normally creates a wooden raft, but for the duration of the event, dragon boats will be created instead. The party will then board the boat and each member may man an oar. For each person on an oar, the faster the boat will go.

Take heed! Just like the normal rafts, hobgoblins will try to ruin your cruise by leaping onto your boat. Fend them off while trying to keep up your speed.

If your crew can finish the race within 8 minutes, each member of your party will be rewarded with a prize! The Dragon Boat racing event will run from August 4th to August 17th!

On Tara Fair

IT’S BACK AGAIN: the spectacle that gives mountains of ego food in the form of fair prizes to contestants with little lag (<–hammer), and leaves the rest in the dust! There are two games – the more popular hammer and darts. Hammer prizes include cat paw club, conky glasses, purple rose bouquet, yukata (M) nontradeable, japanese fan (nontradeable), likeability potions, and WOOD BOARDS (!). This is a godsend for the skill of handicraft, which is usually near-impossible to train due to the difficulty of obtaining wood boards. Since there is such a large influx of wood boards, I suggest you get yer’ handicraft on! (easy dex). Darts is less popular, and tends to reward players with mushroom cookies, fireworks, and mocha drinks. Yay.

ALSO don’t forget: FREE Tara waxen wings in the Cash Shop every day, one time use, 24-hour expiration date. Use it to warp directly to Tara (and I’m not sure if you can use them in Iria or not).

On Capture the Flag Event

from MabiWiki: The Ice Capture the Flag event has experienced a time adjustment. It will now run from 4:00 PM PST to 8:00 PM PST (7:00 PM EST to 11:00 PM EST).

In my opinion a very poorly planned out event, it consists of joining either a red or a blue team at Port Ceann at the time when Lorna and Pan spawn at Port Ceann in Uladh and either 1)running back and forth the playing field trying to obtain watermelons from the other team and bring them back to your own base or 2)”camping” others by constantly freezing them, waiting for them to defrost, then freezing them again. This “camping” is aided in large by the lack of knowledge that tapping your own team member allows them to defrost. Sadface. The rewards are (as Jewelie mentioned below) pirate clothing that is to my knowledge, UNREPAIRABLE.

On Project RM

While this event sounds extremely rewarding (prizes consist of 30 Nao Soul Stones, a “never-to-be-released”  pet and premium character card), the qualifications are both quite confusing and challenging. My understanding of this event is as follows:

1. You “recruit” a friend to make a Mabinogi account, i.e. a Nexon Passport.

2. They must create a Nexon Passport after project RM has started.

3. They must refer you (which they do on the website Nexon.net when they are logged in, under the event tab).

4. Both you and the new character must complete g1, g2, and g3.

*according to this thread, players WHO GET REFERRED BY THE NEW ACCOUNT that have skipped g1, g3 are able to go back and do it, though they would not be able to otherwise.

“We will make a special exception for older players who have skipped Advent of the Goddess and Dark Knight. Of course, we think it benefits user experience for players who participate in all the mainstream storylines! Note that a NEW player MUST complete Advent of the Goddess, Paladin, and Dark Knight mainstream story quests. If you are new, DO NOT skip these quests!”

Also, a new character account finishing those mainstream quests, which are mostly solo? Sounds at least tedious, if not difficult, to me.

Hey everyone its been awhile since I posted but thought this event looked worth talking about. Looks like here is a chance to go back to the beginning a little and run those dungeons we used to always run. Can’t wait to see the kinds of things Fleta has in store for us to collect and do. Upcoming Dungeon Collection Event

It’s open season on all the bosses residing in the dungeons of Uladh, and you’re invited to get in on the action!

Log into the game on May 5th to receive a quest from Fleta that invites you to browse through the event items she has in-stock. You’ll discover that the wandering saleswoman has churned out quite the Fomor Hit List! Fleta sells four volumes of collection books, with each one upping the requirements for completion.

The first book will send you to four dungeons: Alby, Ciar, Rabbie, and Math. Your chances of obtaining the required item depend on the difficulty of the dungeon. In other words, you have a better chance of obtaining the item from an “Advanced” dungeon than from a “Regular” one.

As you complete the collection book volumes, you’ll be asked to visit more dungeons across Uladh, including Fiodh, Rundal, Coill, and Barri. Complete these collection books to gain some powerful and specially-colored items!

First as I’m sure all of you have realized that Mabinogi website got a remodel!

Next we have Farming! Feeling bored just buy a plot of farm land from the farming manager in Taillteann for 30k and get started. You can pick from a variety of plants such as pumpkins, strawberries and eggplants. But there is more! Just like any farm you have to take care of it for  week by watering it, fertilizing it and removing any bugs that may be present.

New Shadow Missions

We have 3 new shadow missions which are

Offering-To complete this shadow mission, you must forcefully attack the Fomors into the radius of the glyph

Provocation-It is a gladiator style deathmatch with you facing off opponents solo. When you finally beat all your opponents (13 rounds) you will face the former commander himself!

Synthesis- Dorren the Master Alchemist requests that you synthesize two Stabilized Shadow Crystals using a Fomor dry oven located at the center of Shadow Taillteann. But there’s a catch—you’ll need to fight Fomors to obtain the special ingredients required to forge the stabilized crystals!


Next we have new synthesis items the Fitted Cord Suit, Fitted Cord Shoes, and the Frilled Short Dress

Finally we have a new pet!

Elephants!

These little cute elephants can spray water that can add to your fire resistance or damage an enemy.
