Looks like we’re getting a total of 9 hours of double exp this weekend. It’s not a lot of time, but might as well cash out on it.

On a side note, they could have mentioned Canada day. Come on, it’s like only 3 days away. We have fireworks too D:

Greetings Mabinogians!

Happy Independence Day! In honor of Independence Day in the U.S., we will be hosting a special Double Exp weekend! This would be a great opportunity to invest some time and effort into getting the most out of your experience gains. The double exp will take place on Friday the 3rd, Saturday the 4th, and Sunday the 5th, from 12:00 pm PST ~ 3:00 pm PST.

Have a fantastic and safe weekend!

Sorry for the late update! ^^;; I know you’d probably rather read a cute update from Vi, but you’re stuck with me on this one. Looks like a lot of interesting updates this time.

Summer Premium Cards

The male version actually looks wearable this time. It’s a good bonus if you’re buying a premium card to change your looks anyways but it’s not worth buying otherwise. The female version is significantly better than the male, as usual. It’s not as good as last year’s but it might be worth picking up.

Mimic Pets

These things have massive inventory space. Here’s a table for quick comparison taken straight from the mabinogiworld wiki.

Mimic Cost Summon Time Inventory Space Cost per Inventory Space
Antique 8100 NX 121 minutes 54 (6×9) 150 NX
Wooden 4800 NX 92 minutes 36 (6×6) 133.3 NX

The cost per inventory space is much higher than the best value White Jindo (86.1 NX/space). Of course, there are other uses for mimics such carrying rider(s) (Antique carries 3, wooden carries 1), move quickly (relative to human walking speed), and protection from monsters. Not to mention their unique ability to turn monsters into statues!

Shaved Ice

The shaved ice event feels like a waste of time. Although the effort is minimal, the reward is just some food.

Fourth Of July/Canada Day

Fireworks Event is a great event for ego feeding. During the dark hours (7pm-5am) you can launch fireworks purchased from any general store. If you launch it more than 12 m (?) in the air, you get a 4th of July gift box. The gift box functions like a gachapon which gives out 5 hp/sta/mana 100 pots or clothing. There is a list of items at mabiwiki. You can launch one firework every minute. This corresponds to 40 Erinn minutes. If you time yourself, you can launch 15 fireworks per night. The gift boxes can be traded so stock up and mule them for future ego feeding! If you have multiple clients or computers, you could rack up the gift boxes even faster. Happy Canada Day and Happy Fourth Of July~!

Beginner Gachapon Sale

Finally, there is a sale on beginner Gachapons. They are 50% off. I somehow doubt this will boost sales of beginner Gachapons.

New event in the last major patch. You get the quest automagically when you log in. I’ll post some details if and when I clear the event.

Of what do Imps dream? Find out for yourself in this free-for-all event!

To participate, visit the curious-looking imp (known amongst the folk of Erinn as the “Barker Imp”) just west of Tracy’s logging camp in Uladh forest. The Barker Imp will tell you of an interesting dream it had, and offer you the chance to experience her dream… for a small price, of course. Complete the Barker Imp’s errand and she will use her less-than-subtle magics to put you to sleep, where you will enter her dream world.

Once immersed in the Barker Imp’s dreary dream world you will find that you have mysteriously taken the form of an imp! Make your way to a clearing where you will find  dozens of gremlins and beastly-looking ogres. Nothing a savvy adventurer like yourself can’t handle, right? Wrong! You’ll soon find that your strength and abilities have been reduced to that of an imp. How are you supposed to defeat ogres if you have all the stopping power of a tissue? Never fear! Slay those pesky gremlins for magic mushrooms, which, when eaten, will increase your size more than ten-fold, dwarfing even the monstrous ogres wandering the dreamscape! You can now use your gargantuan size to teach a thing or two to those mean ol’ ogres. Sadly, there can only be one super imp, so you have to fight for a magic mushroom when you see it! Compete against other players to become the best ogre-smashing imp of all the dream…land.

Once you’re satisfied with the amount of stars you’ve recieved, visit the Sassy Imp in the Dream World to collect your fabulous prizes! Among the rewards are Fashionable Goggles and 300 potions!

Welcome to our newly redesigned website! The website is still undergoing some changes, but it does have some interesting content. We added an auction section to show off and sell our smithed goods. The formatting of the blacksmithing and enchanting section still needs to be updated but it does have relevant information. If you have any questions, please note Kyoma in game (Tarlach server) or leave a comment or reply. Thanks for visiting~

Looks like we’re going to get the biggest update since Iria. Mages rejoice! Chaincasting is on it’s way >:D

Armors will receive set bonuses. Explosion resistance on Dustins. Really? Couldn’t they give it something more useful? =_=

The other two items seem less interesting. A giant dice might have some novelty the first couple days. I’m sure we’re all just going to forget about it soon after. It might make for a good guild event idea or two. As for cooking, there are lots of mods and programs that assist in cooking such that 100 quality foods are created everytime. It’ll be interesting how they plan to judge this… Maybe it’s a trap, just like 99% of the girls in Mabi. Zing!

Looks like I beat Vi to this update. Or maybe we’re just really slow. It’s pretty self explanatory what’s going on here. Nexon did a fine job of describing it on their website. I just copied and pasted the image below.

Looks like we finally might see more Japanese swords on the server. But don’t get your hopes up, gachapons are generally a scam. You MAY get something good, but chances are you’ll get junk. Also, the gachapons cost you an arm and a leg each. I guess it’s really more like lottery… very expensive lottery.

Hi guys. I’m updating the site to a 1024 wide theme. I believe that most people have monitors with a much bigger resolution. This also takes into consideration that most people (including myself) surf with the browser in windowed mode. However, I apologize to anyone who may have to expand their browser window, but I’ll be designing for the majority now.

Some changes you may notice is that there are no banners! They were designed for 800 pixel wide themes, so I have to redo them ><

The site should remain functional so no worries! Check back in a few days and everything should be done, depending on how lazy I am.

The few people who do visit this site may have noticed lack of updates. There are a lot of new happenings in Mabi yet this site is still behind :o   This is because I’m disgusted with Nexon’s handling of the gold/item duping fiasco currently underway. Nexon has known about this for a while and chose not to act until a whistle-blower leaked it all over the forums.

Innocent people getting banned. Obvious exploiters running around. This is a real slap in the face to us and others who have worked hard to get where we are today. What’s the point if anyone can have a high level ego or high rank blacksmithing. The wealth we have achieved all means nothing.

That and final exams :P

Looks like another fairly large update.

Shield overhaul has come to NA a lot sooner than anticipated. This was changed to offset the fact dual-wielding is far move advantageous than the traditional 1-h weapon and shield combo. From what I understand, dual wielding is still more popular on the overseas servers. Will this possibly bring a comeback in shields in NA? At the very least it provides another option for the secondary weapon slot.

1 on 1 PvP is supposed to provide a dueling system that isn’t broken by the very combat system it’s run on. Alby advanced is rumoured to drop some rare items! All in all, a rather exciting update~

Hello Mabinogians!

Mabinogi will be going through an update on April 8th, 2009. During this update we will be adding new features for you to enjoy. Here are some of the features you can expect to see with this latest update.

-Updated Shield System

Shields have been overhauled with this new update. New animations as well as balance upgrades have been applied to all shields.

-1 on 1 PvP

You can now request 1 on 1 PvP battles with your friends, rivals or total strangers. To start a 1 on 1 PvP Battle follow these steps below:

1. Right click on the person you would like to duel. An option to “Request Duel” will be available.
2. The person who received the duel request will be prompted with a battle request.
3. If the player accepts the battle request a menu regarding the battle rules will be displayed. Once the duel rules have been agreed upon by both players the battle will begin.

-Alby Advanced Dungeon

Gather friends and guildmates to test your skills on the new Alby Advanced Dungeon. Acquire the “Alby Advanced 3-person Formor Pass” and “Alby Advanced Formor Pass” from Alby Regular and Alby Basic Dungeons. If you want a personal challenge, “Alby Advanced 1-person Formor Pass” can be acquired by completing Alby Advanced dungeons.

-Boss Trial

You think you have what it takes to be the number one Boss Hunter? Clear Ciar or Rundal Dungeons to receive Boss Rush passes. Drop these passes on the altar to try your hand at being the number one boss hunter. The clear times will be posted on a ranking board next to the dungeon altar.

- Enchant Collection Book

Obtain Enchant Collection Books by clearing Ciar or Rundal Boss Trial Dungeons. Collect all the items for these books to acquire the new enchants.

-Buff Potions Sale!

New Buff Potions are on sale in Mabinogi’s Item Shop.

1. HP Buff Potion: Temporarily boosts the max HP of a character by 100 for 36 minutes.
2. MP Buff Potion: Temporarily boosts the max MP of a character by 100 for 36 minutes.
3. Stamina Buff Potion: Temporarily boosts the max stamina of a character by 100 for 36 minutes.
4. Protection/DEF Buff Potion: Temporarily boosts the level of protection and defense of a character by 5 for 36 minutes.

Here’s your chance to win 20,000 NX. You basically have to take a screenie with a high level field boss with an interesting expression for your chance to win.
