Ancient Treasure Chest Event

Hi again~! Another exciting Mabi event? The gift boxes seem nice but the Ancient chests seem like another NX sink. At least they are giving us something free. The gear looks neat as well! Send me some pics of yourself or other wearing the set and I’ll upload it to the gallery. Videos are welcomed as well.

Shoutout to Jewelie and the cool video in the Gallery section. Check it out if you haven’t seen it already. Aesir does have a youtube channel, but Vi has much more info on that than I.

While adventuring through Erinn Dungeons and the Shadow Realm in the next two weeks, you may come across Ancient Treasure Chest Fragments. Fragments, of course, are no good all by themselves so you’ll need to find someone who can piece the chest together. That person is the Town Office Administrator in Dunbarton: Eavan. Eavan will provide you with a keyword that will allow you to exchange Fragments for prizes.

Battle your way through dungeons and the Shadow Realm, fighting monsters of your own level. Fighting Fomors and monsters weaker than you will yield no Treasure Chest Fragments. Once you’ve had your fill of combat, bring Eavan ten Ancient Treasure Chest Fragments and she will reward you with two items, a Gift Box and an Ancient Treasure Chest. The Gift Box is easily opened and useful items. The Ancient Treasure Chest requires a special key found in the Cash Shop. If you do not wish to purchase a key from the Cash Shop, you may dispose of the Ancient Treasure Chest by dropping it on the ground. Due to the fragile nature of the Ancient Treasure Chests and the volatile chemical Eavan uses to fuse them together, the Chest will dissolve upon landing on the ground, along with anything contained therein.

Chinese Dragon Armor (Human, Elf, Giant versions)
Chinese Dragon Gauntlet (Human and Elf versions)
Chinese Dragon Boots (Human, Elf, Giant compatible)

This is it! This is what you’ve all been waiting for. This looks to be a hefty update with many skills being uncapped and new systems implemented. Of course, with every big update there will be a downtime. It’s quite a hefty downtime as well. What are your expectations of this update? Will the uncapped skills have a significant effect? • Giant-exclusive musical instruments have been added. Purchase the Hand Bell from Kirine (Secret Shop!) or the Physis Tuba from either Zeder or Briana (located in the Tara Castle music room).
• Flame Burst damage has increased.
• Auto Production has been added to several life skill types.
• Alchemy Mastery has been uncapped.
• Life Drain has been uncapped.
• Magic Mastery has been uncapped.

Dragon Boat Racing Returns!

A little slow on this update, but here it is anyways! The title implies this event has taken place in the past but I have no recollection of it ><

Once again, I require some practical insight from Aesir and others about the actual event. Share your experiences in the comments. The event runs until the 17th which gives everyone plenty of time to try it out. Is the event difficult? Is it worth the effort? Or is it another random event Nexon has thrown out to distract us.

There have been plenty of ways to cool down and enjoy yourself in Erinn through the summer: Ice Capture the Flag, the Tara Festival, even taking to the skies on a Magical Carpet. Over the next two weeks, you can head to the humid jungles of Courcle for a few rounds of Dragon Boat Racing! Gather friends in order to control dragon-themed boats in a race to see who can get down the river the fastest!

Head to the northern-most dock in Courcle, which is just west of La Terra Highlands. Create a party and speak to the Native dockmaster and ask to create a dragon boat, ‘Request Raft Craft.’ This option normally creates a wooden raft, but for the duration of the event, dragon boats will be created instead. The party will then board the boat and each member may man an oar. For each person on an oar, the faster the boat will go.

Take heed! Just like the normal rafts, hobgoblins will try to ruin your cruise by leaping onto your boat. Fend them off while trying to keep up your speed.

If your crew can finish the race within 8 minutes, each member of your party will be rewarded with a prize! The Dragon Boat racing event will run from August 4th to August 17th!

Coming in August, the world of Mabinogi is going through another huge, free update soon. We are introducing Sword of the Gods the latest massive addition to the world of Erinn. As the story of Mabinogi continues its epic course, the worlds of the Humans, Elves, and Giants are being shaken to the core. Erinn is in need of great warriors, and it’s up to you to answer the call!

Here’s a preview of just a small number of the additions to Mabinogi:

- The Next Chapter Begins: Behold the story of Sword of the Gods. A weapon has emerged with the ability to cut down even the gods. What role will this blade play in the unending war?

- The Journal: Introducing the Mabinogi achievement system. Players will be able to record and show off their greatest achievements with the Journal. Show others your specialties and accomplishments!

- New Skills: With the battle reaching a new echelon, Mabinogians will need to be at their best. To this end, we are introducing three new Combat Skills and one new Life Skill.

- Improved Social Functions: In these desperate times, you will need to have your friends on hand at a moment’s notice. Use the renewed Party options and Guild Functions in order to best team up with your allies.

- And more! New Shadow Missions, mini-games, quests, and more will be detailed each day until the launch of this newest update.

As we countdown to Sword of the Gods, we will be providing pictures, videos, and details on our main website, the forums, and Facebook. In addition, we’ll be hosting contests with prizes to help players prepare for what’s to come.

Check back every day for the latest update, and be sure to be ready when the Sword is discovered in August!

Happy Valentine’s Day + Lunar New Year + Family Day + Reading Week

Hi guys! Here in Canada, there can potentially be 4 things to celebrate this weekend~

1) Valentine’s Day – Hope everyone is spending quality time with their significant other. But you should be nice to your significant other all year round. It shouldn’t take a special day to make us realize that.

2) Lunar New Year – If you’re from a country that uses the lunar calendar, Happy New Year! This is typically the case if you’re Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Mongolian, Tibetan, or pre 1873 Japanese. If I missed anyone, sorry ^^;;

3) Family Day – This is a holiday added by the Canadian government just over 2 years ago. We’ll take it! It is also celebrated in some other places around the world.

4) Reading Week – University students in Canada get a week off in February. It’s roughly equivalent to Spring Break, but way less fun, unless TV is lying to me.

You may have noticed Miri has an authoring account now as well as Vi. Hopefully we’ll see more fun filled posts and updates. I’ll be getting other Aesir members to help with updates in other sections. I can’t keep up anymore ><

Sorry about the lateness of this post, but it’s still relevant for Tarlach (yay) and Alexina. I’m not so sure people from other servers really cares about this website anyways, hehe. If you’re really interested in the event, you can check the wiki or the forums for more information from the guys that have already done it on Ruiari and Mari. Since there are only prizes for the first 3 party, preparation and co-ordination between all 8 members is essential.

GM Manhunt!

Mabinogians a GM manhunt is on the way!

There will be three GMs hidden in and around Erinn, your job is to find them and use the information they give you to find the fourth GM.

The 3 GMs will be spread out between the continents of Uladh, Rano, Physis, and Connous. Your party will need to scour the surface of Erinn in order to locate all three GMs. Each GM will periodically be giving out hints as to where they are located. Once you do find one, they will give you a hint to the location of the fourth GM.

* GM 1 will name of dungeon in which 4th GM is hiding.

* GM 2 names the item to be dropped in the altar to enter the dungeon in which the 4th GM is located.

* GM 3 will name the eight items need to be traded to the 4th GM in order to receive the prize.

Work in parties of 8 to look for the GMs and find the 4th GM.

The first 3 parties to find the fourth GM and trade them all the items will win 3 Soldier Gachapon as well as 10,000 NX.

The GM event will take place on:

September 17 @ 3:00pm – 6:00pm PDT

Ruairi:
September 18 @ 3:00pm – 6:00pm PDT

Tarlach:
September 21 @ 3:00pm – 6:00pm PDT

Eagle and Pelican Flying Pets have flown into Mabinogi!

Thunderbirds are gone, so they have to replace it with the functional equivalent. Hope you guys got your thunderbirds while you could, although the eagle looks nifty even if you didn’t. Although I did buy a thunderbird, it’s not as cool as I hoped. Still waiting for a broomstick and black unicorns.

While the Thunderbird has departed from Erinn, two brand new birds have flown into the world of Mabinogi to take its place! The swift Eagle and the practical Pelican have made Erinn their new nesting grounds, so be sure to visit the premium shop to obtain one of these birds for yourself!
